David Wilson Homes has sponsored Market Drayton Tigers Cubs Under 12s kit to help the club fund one of its youth teams.
The donation has been dedicated to the club’s U12s team and has provided its squad with a new kit to wear for all of their home and away matches.
Kelly Darby, treasurer of Market Drayton Tigers Cubs U12s, said: “We are honoured that such a well-known company is happy to sponsor our kits for the upcoming season and we’re very grateful for David Wilson Homes’ generosity.
“As David Wilson Homes is building properties throughout Market Drayton, it’s nice to see the company can give something back to the community. The children are all very excited to have a new kit and very thankful to the homebuilder for making this happen for them.”
Market Drayton Tigers Cubs U12s was originally set up in October 2022 as many of the teams in the area were already at capacity. With David Wilson Homes’ development bringing more families to the area, setting up a new team became a necessity.
Kelly said: “Codie, the Under 12s team manager, has a very strong passion for football. When he discovered that many local children could not become part of a local club, he stepped in and set up a new team."
Training for Market Drayton Tigers Cubs U12s is held on Tuesdays and matches are played on Sundays, with home and away games in a weekly rotation. The club is currently participating in the Telford Junior Football League.

The club is located close to David Wilson Homes’ development The Damsons in Market Drayton, and the sponsorship of the team’s kit is another part of the housebuilder’s commitment to the local community.
