The search to find the best businesses in Shropshire in 2018 will this month be launched at a Shrewsbury leisure company.
Salop Leisure has agreed to host the launch of the 2018 Shropshire Business Awards for Shropshire Chamber of Commerce at the company’s Emstrey headquarters on Wednesday, January 17 from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Past winners, including Salop Leisure itself, will be on hand to speak about their experience and the raised profile that the awards gave their businesses.
Shropshire Chamber of Commerce will be inviting all its members to the event, where master of ceremonies Carl Jones will interview past winners to highlight their success stories and provide tips on how to apply for the awards, which are open to all Shropshire businesses.
There will be also be a short presentation about the sponsorship opportunities available.
The 13 award categories for 2018 include a newcomer - the Environmental Technology Award. The other awards are: Company of the Year; Business in the Community; Manufacturing; International Trade through Export; Best Online Business; Outstanding Customer Service; Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality; Technology, Enterprise and Innovation; Apprenticeships; Best New Business; Best Small Business; Environmental Technology and The John Clayton Award.
Richard Sheehan, Shropshire Chamber’s chief executive, said: “It is very fitting that we launch our 18th Shropshire Chamber Business Awards, which highlights success within our business community, at Salop Leisure, a true example of business success that not only gets recognition within our county but reaches far and wide across the UK.”
Salop Leisure’s managing director Mark Bebb, who will speak about the leisure company successful evolution, said the business was delighted to host such a prestigious Shropshire event.
