Galliers announces new housing ventures

An expanding Shropshire building company is set to launch two new housing ventures in the county this month.

Galliers Homes, which announced ambitious growth plans for 2018, is about to unveil developments in Hinstock and Bomere Heath, both in the north of the county.

Based on Shrewsbury Business Park, the company is opening sales offices at its Bomere Heath site on April 13, providing 29 private properties and five affordable homes.

There will be a range of three and four-bedroom homes and two-bedroom bungalows constructed.

At the firm’s Woodfields development in Hinstock, due to launch on April 21, a total of 40 private properties and seven affordable homes will be built. These will comprise of three and four bedroom houses.

Showhomes at the sites will be opened this summer and the government’s Help to Buy scheme, which means purchasers only have to find a 5% deposit, is available at both.

“We are very excited to see the two new developments open this month – it is going to be a year of growth for Galliers in Shropshire, providing a range of new high quality properties for local people,” said Andy Gough, director of the company.

Galliers is also currently constructing homes at the Saxon Grove site in Sundorne, Shrewsbury, where 18 properties are being built, and Abbots Lea in Hadnall where 28 properties, four of which will be affordable, are being provided. The firm will launch a further two housing schemes this year.

“We are optimistic about the property market in the county and are looking forward to expanding steadily in 2018,” said Andy.

“Last year was a very successful one for the company, with moving to a new head office, taking on more staff, completing some very popular developments and acquiring land in a variety of locations.

“Despite some indications of a slow down in the national market, we have found that providing a top quality product and excellent customer service in a good location is a winning formula and one we will continue with in the future,” Andy added.

Galliers other forthcoming new developments include Queens Walk in Baschurch, featuring 29 properties and five affordable houses.

The company will pay just over £1.5 million to the council in Community Infrastructure Levy charges, which will be used to help fund facilities and services such as schools or transport improvements.

A further development is being constructed at Church Aston, near Newport, within the Telford and Wrekin Council area. Here Galliers will be building 11 private properties and six affordable homes.
