New business venture for Mo

Leisure solutions supplier, The Pulse Group, has received significant investment from Shropshire-raised entrepreneur Mo Chaudry of M Investment Group.

Alongside Chris Johnson, MD of The Pulse Group and Dave Johnson, Production Director, Mo will act as chairman joining a talented board of directors.

Founded by Chris and Dave Johnson in 1980, The Pulse Group has provided business support to more than 75,000 leisure facilities in 30 countries across six continents over the last 38 years.

The company currently provides business support solutions to over 100 UK clubs and operates 15 fitness, leisure and soccer centres. The Pulse Group will soon operate a further four soccer facilities in partnership with Liverpool City Council and the FA.

Mr Chaudry brings with him a wealth of experience and business acumen, as Chairman for M Club Spa & Fitness chain, owner of the UK’s most successful waterpark, Water World Leisure Group, in Stoke-on-Trent and owner of Adventure Mini Golf.

The former Telford College student and TV ‘Secret Millionaire’ spent most of his early years living and studying in the town – and told how he felt Shropshire had set him on the path to success.

The investment will see Mr Chaudry become a majority shareholder in The Pulse Group. The team has created a five-year growth plan to propel the business forward, setting them up for continued success in 2018. Together, the two organisations employ over 500 staff and have a combined turnover of £40m.

“I am delighted to welcome Mo Chaudry to The Pulse Group. As a hugely respected and successful businessman and long-standing customer and supporter of The Pulse Group, Mo shares our view and philosophy for the business,” says Pulse Group managing director Chris Johnson.

“With Mo’s experience and expertise and his committed investment to the Pulse family we look forward with excitement to the next stage of growth for the company in 2018 and beyond.”

Mr Chaudry said: “I am thrilled to be joining The Pulse Group. Having worked closely with the team over the years throughout the set up of M Club Spa & Fitness brand, I have always been thoroughly impressed by Pulse’s offering - their knowledge and expertise was invaluable to my business.

“I firmly believe in The Pulse Group and the integrity and principles they show, which is why I am looking forward to working with the team to take the business to the next level.”
