Morris Property has completed the build of a new 20,000ft² factory at Hortonwood West industrial estate in Telford.
Bakerbellfield Ltd, which supplies commercial interiors for airports, rail, office and education sectors, commissioned Morris Property to build the unit due to an increase in demand for its services.
The company has invested around £1.6m in the new premises, including land costs, and will move some of its operation to the new factory within the next three months once the specialist fit-out has been completed.
Peter Baker, chairman of Bakerbellfield, said: “On behalf of Rekab Ltd I would express our thanks to Morris Property and Cyril Orchard partners for a successful build and importantly completion on time, of the building known as West 6, Hortonwood, Telford.
“This is a wonderful addition to our existing factory that enables us to meet the growing demands of the airport and rail industries we service. The build team professionally managed the work throughout and particular thanks go to Dave Fletcher and Steve Flavell of Morris Property and Rob Orchard of Cyril Orchard for all their help."
The new unit is the third to be completed by Morris Property at Hortonwood West, with two more projects started this spring.
Morris Property have begun work on Hortonwood West plot 2 which will see the build of two multi-let start up units for Telford & Wrekin Council. This will bring the total units built at Hortonwood West by Morris Property for the Council to four.
The two new buildings will be built opposite one another, with the first containing five units and the second comprising of ten units, with toilets and meeting rooms. The steel frame buildings will be clad and roofed using Kingspan panels and will include both pedestrian and roller shutter doors.
The build will also include a large tarmac car park with footpaths and landscaping.
Steve Flavell, construction manager, said: “Having worked at Hortonwood West for Telford and Wrekin Council, we were pleased to have been awarded the contract by Baker Bellfield for the build of their new premises and wish them all the best at the new factory.”
