They came from all corners of the area, battling to win the coveted title of Telford's Brainiest Business for 2016.
And after eight tense rounds of testing trivia at the Buckatree Hall Hotel - and a few surprises along the way - the winners were crowned.
Shropshire Business director Henry Carpenter led his team to victory with an impressive 73 points out of 100 to lift the trophy which had been won by the Shropshire and Mid Wales Chartered Insurance Institute for the previous two years.
The event was organised by Telford Busioness Partnership to raise funds for this year’s chosen charity, HomeStart Telford and Wrekin.
TBP Board Member Robin Melley said the event was a huge success, raising important funds for the chosen charity..
“Our annual quiz event always proves extremely popular with businesses from all over the local area, and it was a really fun evening with plenty of friendly competition between the teams.
“An event like this is the perfect opportunity for colleagues to enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere, with the added bonus of raising cash for our chosen charity for the year.”
Teams enjoyed a hot buffet before the questions began, and Quiz Master on the night was once again Carl Jones – the host of Shropshire Business Awards, and presenter on BBC Radio Shropshire and Made in Birmingham Television.
Robin said: “We are very grateful to Barclays Bank who once again agreed to match fund the money we raised on the night, and we will now be organising an official presentation to hand a cheque over to HomeStart Telford and Wrekin.
“We’re always overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who supports our annual quiz, both those who take part and the companies who sponsor the event, and yet again we’ve had an incredibly successful evening.”
