World-leading experts and inspiring speakers will come together to discuss the challenges of dealing with a life-changing injury in Shrewsbury next month.
The Innovation After Injury conference is being organised by Shropshire-based Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors, with more than 200 delegates expected to attend the event at Theatre Severn on Wednesday, March 4, which includes valuable networking opportunities, along with nearly 30 exhibitors.
Among the speakers will be former Traitors star, Andrew Jenkins, who suffered a brain injury in a serious car accident aged 21, along with Mark Ormrod MBE - a former Royal Marines Commando who became the UK’s first triple amputee from the Afghanistan conflict.
A range of professionals, from medical practitioners and nutritionists, to technology specialists and sleep experts, are also part of the line-up to provide practical advice and support.
Entertainment will be provided by Anna Redding, who campaigns to raise awareness of the challenges of living with a hidden disability. Anna, who studied Performing Arts at Derwen College near Oswestry, will be singing a selection of songs to bring the day to a close.
Beth Heath, head of clinical negligence at Lanyon Bowdler, said the conference was set to be an inspiring and informative event.
“We last hosted a major conference like this in 2024, when the focus was on brain injury, and that was a huge success,” she said.
“The Innovation After Injury conference widens the conversation to encompass other serious injuries, particularly spinal injury and amputation, as well as exploring the technological advancements which can make a big difference to people’s lives.
“We are extremely grateful to all of our speakers who will provide a rich blend of professional insight and real-life experience of dealing with trauma - and coming out the other side.
“We are also lucky to be joined by Anna Redding, who has been kind enough to agree to sing for us. Anna is a real inspiration who has never let her disability hold her back, and I know her performance will be an emotional finale to what will be a wonderful day.”
Tickets are still available for the conference, and are available from the Lanyon Bowdler website at www.lblaw.co.uk or by emailing marketing@lblaw.co.uk
