Telford & Wrekin Council and Enterprise Telford have been named as the latest Lighting Industry Academy ambassadors, it has emerged.
The academy, whose home is established within the borough, is bringing skills and learning to the area and the wider lighting community.
Telford & Wrekin Council is a business winning and business supporting council that is committed to dynamically attracting new investment and jobs to the borough to create growth and raise living standards and aspirations of residents.
The LIA were honoured when the then deputy mayor Councillor Stephen Reynolds officially opened the Academy in September 2016.
Enterprise Telford is Telford & Wrekin Council’s vehicle that sets out how the council will encourage enterprise and innovation leading to business and economic growth and have a proven track record in attracting major businesses to the area.
It also provides practical support, from addressing skills shortages and obtaining grants to support future growth
Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Education and Skills, said: “The investment that the Council has made in supporting the development of skills directly impacts on the growth and prosperity of our local businesses, enabling businesses to grow, resulting in more job opportunities and career progression.”
