All cool with Telford firm

A Shropshire window film company has landed a contract to keep gym members cool.

UK Tinting Solutions Ltd, based in Madeley, Telford, was called in by Anytime Fitness at Lawley to help reduce the temperatures for customers using its gym and to cut air conditioning costs.

Duncan Richards, managing director of UK Tinting Solutions and his team, specialise in window film installation to both buildings and vehicles.

He said many offices and homes across the county and beyond are using solar film as a way to cut down air conditioning or heating costs.

The company installed a solar film across many of the gym’s windows and it has proved so successful that bosses at Anytime Fitness said they were now looking at having further work done.

Mr Richards, who runs his business from Tweedale Industrial Estate said: “The gym is a pretty tall building and has a lot of windows which created a kind of greenhouse effect.

“It was getting too hot for customers and the air conditioning bill was steadily rising along with the temperature so they called us in to help.

“No job is too big or too high for us. Our install team applied the solar film to help reduce the internal heat problem and the gym users are certainly much happier with the new cooler environment.

“Reducing air conditioning costs was our main aim here as the south facing windows were letting in so much heat.

“It is important to keep air conditioning and heating bills in check for financial reasons as well as environmental and, of course, the comfort of the customers and staff is paramount.”

Anytime Fitness boss Stuart Martin said: “We have been thinking about this for a while. As you can imagine, temperatures get pretty high in the gym - particularly when you have as much glass in the building as we have.

“The air conditioning has been working overtime and we decided it was high time we looked at getting something done. We have a slanting roof and it is pretty high but UK Tinting Solutions came in and did the job with no problems.

“We are over the moon with the results and have had positive feedback from customers and staff. It is a much more comfortable place to work and train and we are already seeing a substantial cut in the excessive cost of our air-con bills.

“It has proved to be a very good move for us and we are now considering having more windows done.”

Mr Richards added: “Vehicle window tinting is a speciality of ours but building installations have also become a key part of our business in recent years and it’s really great to see a fantastic looking buildings like Anytime Fitness benefit from our work.”
