Business leaders turn out for roadshow

Business leaders and HR professionals from across Shropshire turned out in force for Aaron & Partners’ latest employment law roadshow, as organisations look to get to grips with major changes to workplace legislation.

The Legal 500-ranked law firm hosted five events across the region with a showpiece Shrewsbury event attracting more than 80 professionals to Shrewsbury Town FC’s Croud Meadow Stadium for a session sponsored by Unitemps Harper Adams.

Hosted by Aaron & Partners’ specialist employment law team, the roadshows brought together senior leaders responsible for people and culture, offering practical guidance on the most pressing challenges facing employers.

This year’s programme centred around the Employment Rights Act 2025, widely regarded as one of the most significant overhauls of employment legislation in recent years. The reforms include major changes such as day-one rights for unfair dismissal, expanded statutory sick pay, strengthened protections against harassment, and extended time limits for employment tribunal claims.

During the Shrewsbury session, attendees received expert insight into how these changes will impact their organisations, alongside updates on discrimination law, immigration, recent case law and forthcoming legislative developments.

Helen Watson, senior partner and head of employment at Aaron & Partners, said: “The Employment Rights Act represents a new era for employers, with wide-ranging reforms that will dramatically impact how businesses in Shropshire and across the UK operate.

“It’s clear from the level of engagement across all of our events that organisations are keen to understand what these changes mean in practice and, importantly, how they can prepare.

“Our roadshow has always been about giving businesses clear, practical advice they can take away and apply within their organisations. This year, that guidance is critical as employers grapple with one of the most significant shifts in the employment law landscape we’ve ever seen.”
