Entrepreneur cuts through AI hype

A Telford technology entrepreneur has launched a new book aimed at helping business owners cut through the hype surrounding artificial intelligence and understand how it can deliver real benefits to their organisations.

Chris Pallett, managing director of Bespoke Computing, has drawn on more than three decades of experience in the technology sector to produce Beyond the Prompt: The Business Owner's Guide to Understanding AI.

The practical guide is designed specifically for business leaders who want to understand AI without getting lost in technical jargon, explaining how it works, where it can add value, and how to avoid some of the common pitfalls.

Chris, whose company is based on Stafford Park in Telford, said: "Business owners are drowning in surface-level AI advice, and I wanted to shatter the myths surrounding this technology that's changing on a daily basis.

"Running a business is difficult enough, so trying to do that and keep up with changes in technology at the same time is something many organisations understandably struggle with.

"My book is designed to help business owners understand the real fundamentals of AI and how to apply them in a practical way that delivers results."

The book is available in both print format, and as a free download. More details can be found here: Beyond the Prompt free AI business book

Chris said the book covered a wide range of topics including the “Copy-Paste Sandwich” trap that makes most AI tools a waste of time.

“You can find out how to write AI prompts that give out great outputs and also why 95% of corporate AI pilots fail.

“I’ll explain why your employees are likely to be using unsafe AI tools and how to fix the problems this may cause too.”

Chris said even if businesses felt AI was currently not a priority for them, his book would prove why it should matter to everyone.

“It’s vital that businesses get to grips with AI technology because it’s not going away – but it’s not something that anyone should be afraid of as it creates incredible opportunities to streamline business operations on a day-to-day basis.

“It’s time to bite the bullet now and prepare for a future that will look very different from the more traditional ways and processes we have all used previously – let’s explore where this journey takes us together.”
