Firm helps elderly stay hydrated

Soft drinks producer Radnor Hills is working with a care home group to help keep their staff and residents hydrated.

Care home provider Oakland Care, which has homes across Essex, Kent, East Sussex and Oxfordshire, is stocking a range of Knighton-based Radnor’s drinks in its ten homes.

To help ensure staff and residents drink enough throughout the day, the homes have been running a series of healthy hydration days with Tetra packs of Radnor’s Radnor Juice range, made with real fruit juice and with no added sugar.

They also received samples of Heartsease Farm Sparkling Premium Presses, made with 100% natural ingredients and no artificial sweeteners.

Lambwood Heights Care Home based in Essex was one of the ten homes in the group to offer the drinks to residents, and they were also used as the base for a range of fresh fruit smoothies.

Lifestyles manager at the care home Lucy Malchar said: “We are always looking for fun and different ways to make hydration and nutrition more interesting. Our goal is to encourage individuals to increase their fluid intake in a way that feels natural and enjoyable."

Radnor Hills has been keeping its customers hydrated for 35 years with a range of drinks, all made from the exceptionally pure spring water sourced from boreholes on their farmland.

Marketing manager for Radnor Hills Chris Butler said: “Dehydration can be hard to detect in older people so making sure they have enough to drink is crucially important. We’re delighted to be working with Oakland Care Homes to help them to keep their residents and staff hydrated throughout the day.”
