Hotel unveils second phase of refurb

The Park House Hotel in Shifnal has celebrated the completion of its £1m second phase of refurbishment with an exclusive VIP event which welcomed almost 200 people from the local community.

The Mayor of Shifnal Roger Cox and guests were able see first-hand the changes made to the hotel, which has undergone a huge transformation since it was bought by Crest Hotels Group in 2021.

The latest phase of the refurbishment includes a £300,000 investment modernising the two main meeting rooms and function space.

A new -look garden suite is the largest function room at the hotel and it also featured in the latest set of renovations with a neutral colour palette to the walls and ceiling; and parquet flooring throughout the space.

Crest Hotels' managing director Jason Hiley said: “We are absolutely delighted to have officially unveiled this second stage of our refurbishment and are so proud of the outcome.

“The hotel, function room and new meeting space is looking stunning– the design, style and quality speaks for itself and to see our guests agree with this at our unveiling felt like our hard work has really paid off.

“We will also soon have new signage taking pride of place outside the hotel, along with a refurbishment to the external facade."

Since buying the hotel in 2021, Crest Hotels Group has given the historic hotel a new lease of life. The final phase takes the total invested to £1,100,000. The significant injection of funds has seen improvements to back of house areas, kitchens, IT infrastructure, £150,000 on implementing a green energy strategy, including solar panels, and £250,000 on modernising the lounge, bar and restaurant areas.
