Ironbridge football team Sparta FC has received a £300 donation from a housebuilder to replace the goalposts on one of its pitches.
The donation from David Wilson Homes has ensured the team can continue to play on its Ironbridge pitches, allowing local players prolonged access to the sport.
Chair at Sparta FC Zoe Broome said: “We currently have 25 girls’ and boys’ teams, ranging from our under-six minis team through to under-16s. We aim to provide safe and affordable access to football for young people, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who prioritise development and enjoyment.
“We want to send a big thank you to David Wilson Homes for this donation and for supporting our club and teams.”
Georgina Hall, senior sales manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We are proud to support community organisations like Sparta FC and we are glad to see that this donation has helped them continue to provide access to football to young people across Ironbridge and Telford.
“Grassroots football is essential to communities as it fosters a fantastic support network for members to enhance their skills while building new relationships.”
