Ludlow park takes top award

A Shropshire touring caravan and motorhome park has been voted the best in the Heart of England.

Not only is Ludlow Touring Park, owned by Shrewsbury-based Morris Leisure, listed in Britain’s Top 100 Sites Guide, but it has also won the Heart of England regional awards for touring caravans and motorhomes.

The park also won the Baby Changing Facilities Award for England and a diamond grading for its washrooms in the Loo of the Year Awards 2021.

Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome publish the Top 100 Sites Guide annually to recognise the best sites in the UK voted for by the public. More than 8,000 caravan and motorhome owners voted this year to ensure their favourite site made the final list.

Morris Leisure has special reasons to celebrate as all five of its touring caravan and motorhome parks across Shropshire and North Wales are named in the Top 100 Sites Guide for the seventh consecutive year.

Edward Goddard, Morris Leisure’s managing director, said: “We are absolutely delighted that all five of our touring parks are listed in Top 100 Sites Guide again and particularly excited that Ludlow Touring Park won the Heart of England regional award.

"We are very proud of the high standards set at all our parks and delighted that caravan and motorhome owners have supported them again in the annual survey.

“Inclusion in the Top 100 Sites Guide acknowledges the hard work and enthusiasm of all our staff who maintain the high standards and ensure a warm welcome to every customer.

"We are anticipating another busy year at all our parks as the staycationing boom continues," added Mr Goddard. "Forward bookings are very promising, and we are finding that caravan and motorhome owners are taking shorter breaks more often, rather than committing to longer holidays.”

Morris Leisure also owns Stanmore Hall Touring Park at Bridgnorth, Oxon Touring and Holiday Home Park at Shrewsbury, Llanberis Touring Park at Llanberis and Riverside Touring and Holiday Home Parks at Betws-y-Coed and Bow House Country Park near Bishops Castle.

Paul Critcher, Top 100  Sites Guide editor, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to be listed among the best, especially when year-on-year standards and guest expectations continue to rise.”
