Shropshire Chamber of Commerce has appointed a new events and training manager.
Roger Taylor has spent all his working life in the public sector as a civil servant with the Ministry of Defence; at MOD Donnington, the Equipment Support Provision & Procurement Authority, and RAF Cosford.
“The majority of that time has been in training and development – and I felt the time had come for a change,” he said. “This new role presents me with the opportunity to still use my skills, knowledge and experience I’ve gained in my career so far and apply it in a different environment.”
Roger, who is from Telford and has spent all his working life in Shropshire, said: “I am looking forward to supporting the diverse community of the Chamber and hopefully making a difference for the better with them. 
“I feel incredibly lucky to have joined such a friendly, welcoming, supportive and experienced team and look forward to expanding my skills and knowledge with them.”
Kelly Riedel, the Chamber’s head of member success, said: “Roger is going to be a real asset, strengthening our ability to deliver high quality programmes that genuinely support business growth across the region.
“Businesses tell us they want practical skills, relevant insights and opportunities to connect. Strengthening our team in this area means we can respond even more effectively to those priorities.”
