Award-winning construction business Pave Aways Limited is the latest high profile local employer to become a patron of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce.
The company, based at Knockin near Oswestry, was honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise for Promoting Opportunity earlier this year, and is a former Shropshire Company of the Year.
Finance director Charlotte Davies said becoming a patron was a natural fit for the business. "The patron programme brings together organisations that want to champion the ambitions of the region.
“We're proud to join other members in sharing ideas and helping create opportunities that benefit businesses and the communities around our projects.”
The Chamber’s patronage programme brings together a select group of influential businesses who are committed to championing Shropshire’s economic growth.
Pave Aways construction director Jamie Evans said becoming a patron also presented an opportunity to help address one of the industry's biggest challenges.
"The future success of our industry depends on attracting and developing the right talent. Tackling the construction skills gap requires businesses, educators and industry leaders to work together to create opportunities, and the patron programme provides a valuable platform for those conversations."
Patrons play a strategic role in shaping the county’s business landscape - helping to amplify local success stories, strengthen collaboration, and create new opportunities for companies of all sizes. The patronage programme also provides exclusive access to high‑level networking, thought‑leadership opportunities, and direct engagement with key decision‑makers across the public and private sectors.
Ruth Ross, chief executive of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The objective is to generate ideas, enthusiasm and dynamic business opportunities, and to feed this back through Shropshire Chamber and onwards to the county’s businesses as a whole.
“Patronage is about more than visibility - it’s about leadership, influence and a shared commitment to helping Shropshire thrive. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Pave Aways to the patronage programme, which is designed to enhance long‑term relationships, driving both profitability and community connection.
“Our patrons are a strategic asset in today’s competitive marketplace, and their support helps us champion the success, resilience and ambition of Shropshire’s business community.”
The Chamber’s patron network now spans a diverse range of sectors, reflecting the strength and breadth of the county’s economy.
