Prestigious rankings secured by law firm

Shropshire law firm Aaron & Partners has secured top-tier recognition in the Chambers UK 2027 guide, with its Corporate/M&A team ranked Band 1 in the North West.

The firm - which has an office in Shrewsbury - achieved nine departmental rankings and 18 individual rankings overall, while its Corporate/M&A team also moved up to Band 2 in the West Midlands. Five lawyers gained new individual rankings and four moved up a band.

Chambers UK is one of the country’s leading independent legal guides, ranking law firms and individual lawyers following detailed research, including submissions, market analysis and interviews with clients and other legal professionals.

Recognition was secured across a range of practice areas, including Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Real Estate, Family, Planning & Environment, Employment, Litigation and Construction.

Among the new individual rankings, head of Real Estate and Business Services Emma McGlinchey was ranked Band 6 for Real Estate, while Planning, Environmental, Energy and Regulatory Law partner David Harries entered Band 3 for Planning.

Dispute Resolution partner Layla Barke-Jones gained a Band 5 ranking for Litigation, with Construction partner Phil Caton securing Band 4 recognition. Dispute Resolution partner Stephen Taylor also gained a new Band 4 ranking for Litigation in the Midlands, while Employment lawyer Jenny Gibson moved from Associate to Watch to Up and Coming.

CEO at Aaron & Partners Nick Clarke said: "We are, of course, committed to delivering excellent outcomes and service levels for our clients, but the reality is that you would expect any firm of solicitors to say this. That’s why the rankings produced by third parties, in this case Chambers and Partners, are so significant.

“Their research with our clients and others we work with, and the resultant rankings demonstrate that our clients agree with our assessment.”

Elsewhere, there were further improvements for Corporate & Commercial partner Jamie Hawley, who moved from Band 3 to Band 2 for Corporate/M&A, and head of Planning, Environmental, Energy and Regulatory Law Mark Turner, who rose from Band 3 to Band 2 for Planning.

Employment partner Ben Mason also moved from Band 4 to Band 3 for Employment in the West Midlands.

Further individual rankings went to Stuart Scott-Goldstone, Joseph Fletcher-Hunt, Hugh Strickland, Zoe Lloyd, Lorraine Saunders, Simon Magner Mawdsley, Claire Brook, Helen Watson and Mark Davies.
