Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is turning the spotlight on the county’s tourism and hospitality economy with a brand‑new networking event taking place later this month.
The gathering, at Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury on April 30 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, is designed to bring together professionals, venues, suppliers and sector partners for an evening of insight, inspiration and meaningful connection.
Guest speakers include Ed Glover of Salop Leisure, who will discuss the company’s award‑winning approach to customer service, and Andy Lee and Jules Rhodes from Shrewsbury College, who will explore workforce development and succession planning in the hospitality and leisure industries.
There will also be a welcome from Visit Shropshire chair Mark Hooper and a short Q&A session.
Drinks for the evening – which is free to attend for members and £15 for non-members - will be provided by Hobsons Brewery of Cleobury Mortimer, adding a flavour of Shropshire hospitality to the occasion.
Kelly Riedel, the Chamber’s head of member success, said: “This new event has been created to support everyone working across hospitality, tourism and leisure. It will feature thought‑provoking talks from guest speakers, followed by dedicated time for open networking, idea sharing and building new partnerships.
“It’s a chance to strengthen local links, explore new opportunities and stay informed about the latest developments shaping one of Shropshire’s most important industries.”
