Shropshire accountancy firm Whittingham Riddell is inviting local companies to meet Dr Gertjan Vlieghe, a member of the Monetary Policy Committee, at its next Bank of England update.
Whittingham Riddell is working in partnership with MWMG & the Mid Wales Chamber of Commerce to offer an exclusive seminar on Wednesday May 16, at which Dr Vlieghe will be presented.
The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee is responsible for making decisions about Bank Rate, and Gertjan is visiting The Elephant & Castle in Newtown following the latest Inflation Report due to be published on the 10th May.
The event at The Elephant & Castle starts at 11am and booking can be made via www.whittinghamriddell.co.uk/events/boemay18.
He will meet local businesses and provide an update on the Bank’s outlook for growth; including domestic consumption, net trade and investment and prospects for inflation over the medium term, specifically looking at how this affects businesses within Mid Wales.
The event will also provide an opportunity to meet local businesses and network over lunch.
Jacki Pugh, a Partner at Whittingham Riddell’s’ Newtown team said; “We are delighted to be co-hosting the Bank of England update again this year.
“It is always an informative session and with Gertjan presenting this time I look forward to hearing an insight into the future. It will also be a great opportunity to see some familiar and new faces from businesses in Newtown.”
