New business podcast is launched

Two Shropshire media organisations have joined forces to launch a brand-new business podcast.

Shropshire Business magazine and Shropshire Live are collaborating on ‘The Shropshire Business Podcast’, a mix of interviews, news and views from across the county,

The fortnightly show, which is sponsored by reigning Shropshire company of the year McPhillips, is available on the Podbean podcasting platform as well as the Shropshire Business and Shropshire Live websites.

The first three episodes are already available, and include interviews with campaigners seeking to restore the county’s direct rail link to London, a best-selling author, a fifth-generation family manufacturing business… and a star of TV’s hit show The Traitors.

The podcast is the latest collaboration between Shropshire Business and Shropshire Live, who have also worked together on the award-winning Shropshire Business Live TV platform for the past five years.

Shropshire Business magazine editor Carl Jones said: “Shining a spotlight on successful local businesses, and the brilliant people behind them, is what we are all about, so this is a natural extension to our portfolio. We’re really excited about this.”

Chris Pritchard, editor of Shropshire Live, said: “This partnership allows us to bring even more voices, stories and insights to the local business community. It’s a fresh way to showcase the innovation and ambition that make Shropshire such a special place.”

McPhillips managing director Paul Inions said: “We have been doing business in Shropshire for more than 60 years, delivering civil engineering and construction excellence.

“Shropshire is at the heart of everything we do, so sponsoring the new Shropshire Business podcast is a natural fit for us. It is a fantastic platform for connecting the local business community and we are proud to play a part in bringing those conversations to life."
